How To Help

Before you think “all a charity ever wants is money” please take a minute and read this page as we require much much more than just money. We won’t deny money helps and goes a long way to providing for the cats in our care but there are other ways too. Our rescue shelter for example, we always look for people who can help with cleaning the animals cages, empty and clean their trays and food bowls, give them a brush and perhaps even play with them for a little bit.

This job is not suitable for the very young as a certain amount of responsibility goes with it as you will be required to care for the cats, ensure doors are properly closed behind you at all times and you will be using disinfectant for cleaning. If you are interested why not give Carole a call and see if you can meet up? Then there is the shop, we are always looking for clean donations, from clothing to books to games to bric a brac we can also collect money from clothes past their sell by date!

Anything really that we can turn into money to pay the vet and food bills. Or do you have some free time during the week or weekend to help out in the charity shop in Walton on the Naze. You will be required to deal with the public, sort through donations, perhaps iron the odd garment here or there, keep the shop display and stock updated and generally try to give the public a pleasant shopping experience.

If you do not wish to be in the front of the shop there is a place in the store room, we need help sorting through donations and splitting them into shop stock and recycling stock, can you do some ironing for us. Could you raise some money or support via a local school or workplace. Can you donate some things we need i.e. kitchen rolls, bleach, toys and brushes, cat litter, the list is endless.

The garden at the cattery is always in need of work, and anybody wishing to help in this way, would be gratefully accepted!, its quite a large garden, and also a pond, which having just cleaned, would like to find someone before it needs it again! The upkeep of the cattery is also time consuming, and a handyman for this would be appreciated.

There are a million and one ways to help us, one volunteer of ours just donated some cat food every now and again - we appreciate all the help we can get!
