The Volunteers

The Charity is lucky to have several volunteers, both for the Cattery and for the shop in Walton, some of them didnt want their pictures taken but, we would like to thank them for their help, all of which is done without payment.

Sandy

Sandy has worked for the charity for about 10 years now, and she absolutely adores all the cats, she sings to them while she is working, but luckily they arent scared as she has a good voice. At home Sandy has quite a few cats too, two of them came from here as kittens, that was a few years ago now, so she must be due for another couple now!

Shirley

Shirley has also been working with the charity for several years and comes in every Wednesday, and has been a very reliable helper, also both Shirley and her daughter have had cats from the cattery that they fell in love with, is so easy to do it, but the cats are really happy in their new homes, and therefore more success stories!

Bill Sandy

Bill and Sandy arrive every Sunday without fail. The residents are always pleased to see them especially as Bill serves the breakfast! Bill also comes another day of the week on his own, and with the work they both do, the cattery is absolutely spotless ( until the cats undo all the good work). They have also taken 2 older cats in their home, as they were with us for a long time, and are now very happy cats.

The charity also has a shop in Brightlingsea, which has been managed by Beryl for about 8yrs now, and has paid the bills, and updated the units in that time, but unfortunately it has now been sold, so we had to find an alternative, and we now have a shop in Walton on the Naze, and several volunteers have already been found to help. Andy and Dilys help usually Saturdays, but they also have been doing car boot sales for several years now, and use that money towards the vets bill, also Andy collects food for the cats too, and we would like to thank them for all this work.

Jan and Terry have recently come to help in the shop, and they do at least 3 days, which really helps, and we are very grateful, they are very popular with the shoppers, and have lots of experience with this type of work.

There are other helpers that give a morning or afternoon, depending on their commitments, and they are Olive, Sue Catherine, Margaret, and another Sue. Thanks to them all.

The charity also has to thank Ros and Jeff from Clacton Electronics, they have supplied lots of things for use on the website, camera, various leads, computer equipment, telephones, doorbell, just to name a few. Also lots of things are donated to sell at the shop. Not forgetting helping to set up this website, also they have a collecting box in the shop, which brings in extra money.

We also have some lovely people who knit blankets, and others knit toys and baby clothes, so thanks to Pam and Iris, and Lily. Lily also has a collecting box at her home, and all guests have to pay to go in!
